"They were the only business that had exactly what I wanted at a reasonable price. It shipped immediately and works well."

Control all of your home theater video sources (Blu-Ray player, Cable box, TiVo, and anything else that uses a standard IR remote control) from behind walls or closets by extending the IR signal with this kit.

How this works

This kit comes with an IR Receiver, and an IR Emitter. Simply point your remote control at the Receiver, and it will send the signal wirelessly to the Emitter which will then transmit that signal to the devices you wish to control.

It can be combined with other BlastIR Wireless Kits to be used as an "All-to-All" setup, or to create "zones" and only control specific devies.

Ir Applications

Multizone Control

The BlastIR Wireless Pro supports up to 10 zones with independent sending/receiving frequencies. (kind of like different channels on a walkie-talkie). You can change the zone by using a very small rotating switch located at the bottom of the receiver and emitter pucks. The Receivers will only communicate with the Emitters that are set to the same zone.

You can also purchase extra Emitters, or Receivers individually if you do not need an extra full pair.

Many people use the BlastIR Wireless with their current cable box. Every time we hear a report about a cable box (or any other device) not working with the BlastIR Wireless, we get to work on making the device compatible. This update helps those with a Dish or Cisco box.
Further widening the range of compatibility of the BlastIR Wireless. This update helps those with Explorer, Spectrum, or Samsung boxes.
We found that the text size in the manual was simply too small. It has been enlarged throughout the manual to better use the space and make it easier to read.
With the release of our new Magnet Feet, we have decided to include two in every BlastIR Wireless box. A magnet foot is simply an adhesive rubber "dot" with a magnet embedded inside. After placed on the bottom of the BlastIR Wireless "puck" you can place it on metal surfaces such as the back of your TV or the TV mount itself. This could also keep the unit in place in your equipment cabinet or rack. We have also included a page in the manual to describe this.

Color coding makes installation easy

Pros: At first I felt overwhelmed (you'll be surprised how many cables a wireless product needs, but don't worry - it's just power and receiver/emitter eyes). The color coding helped me quickly figure out what went where.

Cons: None

Other: I really like how the power cables run off of USB. 2 power supplies are included in case you need to plug both sides in, but in my case the sender (or receiver depending on how you look at it - the thing by my TV that was grabbing the IR signals and sending them to my TiVo installed in a closet) could just plug in to the TV's USB port, which is really nice and cut down on a little cable clutter.

Sewell IR blast wireless kit

Pros: The eye and repeater units do their task reliably

Cons: 1. There is a delay in response time from the eye to the emitter. You get used to it, but frustrating at first. 2. The jack on the receiver for the eye is not a solid construction and keeps forcing the cable for the eye loose. I got so frustrated that I eliminated the eye entirely and taped the whole receiver module under my tv.

Other: Good price. A hell of a lot easier than hardwiring. The quality of the product could be stepped up a bit. I'd even pay more for a kit that functioned properly.

Pros: Works well and is low profile, neatens up the living area

Cons: Couldn't get it to work without using the sticky eye, took longer to set up than expected

Other: Now that I know how to use it better I like it better. It was difficult at first because the remote has to be pointed precisely at the eye.

No need for special battery for remote needed as some competing wireless devices require.

Works Great!

Brad H - 5/5/2019 12:58:49 PM

Easy installation and it works great. I have the emitter controlling my cable box, and the 2 extenders on my Blu Ray and X Box. The price was good and I received it quickly.

It helps to do some research first

Sounded exactly like what I needed for my new TV and interconnections to my DVD player and Cable Box. Wrong!!!! If I had read the user manual for the new TV remote it would have told me that it worked with RF and not IR.
